AOTW [47] : The Rescues

Adrianne GonzalezI first heard of The Rescues – thanks to Grey’s Anatomy ! I knew I had to feature them as Artist Of The Week as soon as I heard their cover of Katy Perry (another love of mine!) ‘Teenage Dream’. Very different feel to the song and I do love it as much as the original. Enjoy!

On a side note, I really think Adrianne Gonzalez (left) is spunky hot stuff !  Not easy to carry off that style of hers I must say !

AOTW [44] : Rishi Menon ft. Jamie Dick and Alex Rosen

Tyrone WellsTyrone Wells is one cool guy whose songs are featured on a lot of TV series before his EP ‘Metal and Wood’ debuted earlier this year. I’m sure alot of people has heard of his song ‘Sink or Swim’  in Grey’s. One thing I like about him is his manly voice and definitely the lyrics that I can relate to most of the time.

Here’s one of my favourite song from his EP, ‘Time of Our Lives’ which probably reflects what I’m feeling at this stage of my life. Enjoy the cover by these boys which I thought did a pretty great job ! Unfortunately I have no idea where they are from but looks like a school/church event to me. Nonetheless, beautiful voice and I love guitar !

AOTW [33] : Carmina Topacio

Happened to see Carmina’s cover on the 2nd single that I really like from Breaking Benjamin’s  album ‘ Dear Agony’. This 18 years old sweet looking girl is from Philippines and I love the fact that she plays the song out on her keyboard instead of singing along to the song. I think she did a fairly good job on this song as compared to most of the covers I’ve heard. Enjoy and check out her other covers too !

AOTW [30] : Bianca Gisselle

It’s been awhile since I last posted an AOTW (Artist of the Week),  let’s bring it back with another wonderful myspace artiste who just released her debut album. Bianca Gisselle is definitely not just a pretty face but has a wonderful voice which I instantly fell in love with.

I like how she puts up videos of the recordings for her debut album too. Good way to update your fans and keep them in the loop. Afterall, they are the ones who helped you realize your dreams too ?

AOTW [22] : Sugarland/Matt Nathanson

I love Matt Nathanson‘s “Come On Get Higher” since the first time I’ve heard it last year by chance. Meant to blog about it but keeps forgetting. So here I am today, blogging Matt Nathanson as my Artist Of The Week (AOTW)  but I came across Sugarland, a Grammy Award-winning American country music duo did this brilliant cover for the Matt Nathanson’s song.

Sugarland’s music video of Stay was so emotional, felt like crying along with her. Though the song is more suitable for a girl who’s in a love-triangle situation (with the guy deciding between 2 girls of course). Depressing song but great vocal.

Anyways, here’s the 2 versions of “Come On Get Higher”. Which do you prefer ? =)

AOTW [19] : Sam Tsui

Disappeared for quite some time since it was my final papers, finally…Goodbye Year 3 Term 1 !

Starting things off again with Artiste of the Week (AOTW)- Featuring Sam Tsui !

Actually I was looking for Glee songs on youtube and came across his cover of “Don’t Stop Believing”

Really enjoyed it and I think he has a great voice (even though the video was alil creepy at first – clones attack ! haha)

I thought it was a great cover and check out Sam’s myspace for other covers !
